Why Breathwork?
Breathing influences every major system in the body, and if our breathing is dysfunctional, we will be negatively impacting a wide range of our bodies critical systems.
When we are born, unless there are any specific issues, we all start to breathe how we are supposed to breathe from an evolutionary standpoint. We breathe quietly and lightly using our nose and diaphragm. In modern society, this all starts to change at about five years old when we go to school and start sitting down for large parts of the day.
This continues as we get older and we sit down in cars, at universities and in the majority of modern workplaces. If we then add poor posture and bad diet, this leads to dysfunctional breathing. Overtime, dysfunctional breathing compounds over years and years resulting in inefficient breathing patterns and dysfunction in a number of our bodies major systems.
The good news is that our breathing patterns can be trained to become healthy. Through practicing the simple yet scientifically proven breathing techniques that I teach, you can take responsibility for your own health and realize your full potential.
